Default Mars Bar Squares Recipe -
Anthony Hello, who works in advertising in Toronto, learned to make these Mars Bar Squares from his mom Marsha in Moncton. Don’t grease the pan or add butter to the chocolate, he warns. You could use an 8-inch (20-cm) square glass baking dish.
Mars Bar Squares
Four 52-g Mars Bars, chopped
1/4 cup (60 mL) salted butter, cut into pieces
3 cups (750 mL) Rice Krispies
300-g bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt Mars Bars and butter, stirring often,]beats by dre tour, until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in Rice Krispies.
Transfer mixture to ungreased 9-inch (23-cm) square metal cake pan. Pat down quickly with rubber spatula. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Place pan directly under preheated broiler 30 seconds. Remove from oven. Quickly spread chocolate with rubber spatula. Refrigerate 1 hour to set chocolate.
To cut, bring to room temperature. Pop entire square from pan if possible, then cut into 12 pieces or as desired.
Makes about 12 pieces.
