Default Payments on Account
Have just completed a SA tax return. Tax & NI owed circa ?2.5k. HMRC view calulation said on 31st Jan payment due was ?2.5k + ?1.2k payment on account. This was about a week ago. Have logged on today and they are not asking for the ?1.2k account payment anymore. Which is excellent. But, whats going on??

payment on account means, a payment, often relating to taxes, that is based on a prior period's liability.
