Default Paypal's affect on conversion stats
Does anyone have a handle on how many shoppers choose to use paypal versus standard credit card entry. Do the extra steps decrease the goal conversion stats for your site?

I could see if you have both a gateway and a 3rd party, then it would increase conversion rates. When deciding whether to use a 3rd party or to use a gateway, customers will usually trust a gateway before going through the hassle of going through a 3rd party, setting up an account, getting verified, etc.

I used Paypal on an old site I used to manage, as well as gateway processing, but we introduced Paypal later on, just as a test, and it did increase our conversions, I think that the general public are edgey about putting their credit card details into just any site.
