Default Wikipedia is there when you need it.... it needs you.

If you often visited Wikipedia recently, you maybe familiar with the tag line. I just visited the site, and the stat shows that they have collected $2.9M of $7.5M needed.

Being a non profit website, I think it deserves the donation. Wikipedia is the first place I come to if I do research about anything for my jobs.

Everyone knows that its a non-profit organization but why don't Wikipedia go to big companies or even governments to ask for support.

Do you know why they set $7.5 million? Is it for paying debts or upgrading their system? Why is it so big?

I'm not against supporting Wikipedia, I love it and willing to support it. But I'm wondering why the goal is so big.
