They act as both.

I have used Maxx Merchants and they have great service. Their gateway also offers a unique feature. It can support multiple merchant accounts. This allows you to load balance merchant accounts and also spreads the risk. If one merchant cuts you off or limits your credit then the 2nd merchant account can take over. You should check them out. Ask for Ryan Smith, he is a rep there and offers great service.

It is against Visa/MasterCard processing regulations to have more than 1 open and active merchant account at a time. If it is discoverd that you are opperating with more than one you will be placed on the Terminated Merchant File and never able to process again.

Fyi.

Fleet, do you have their contact information?

KC, thanks for the info, but I'm not sure why you are telling me this.

They are actually sort of both, they process the money & then can move it into your account, but they aren't the "traditional" merchant account.

They control the fraud protection, as a company, you don't.

They "claim" to screen your client by telling you that if the client has a preferred account (or whatever it's called now), they are safe to accept business from, but that's NOT true.

Both people who stole from me had preferred accounts.

PP sides with one person one day & the next person the next. There are no set parameters in place, whereas if you have your own merchant account, you as a real company have to screen your own clients which is what I do.

That's why I don't trust ANY company that ONLY takes Pay Pal because any real company would take real credit cards AND maybe take Pay Pal. They wouldn't force their clients to only use PP.

Thanks

ep2002 - I have been in this business more than 9 years and work for a very reliable company. I do understand that there are a lot of scammers out there but there are also a few really good ones. If you would like to contact me and let me know what city and state your located I would be happy to get you some good references. The name of my company is Renaissance Associates. Please feel free to contact our office at (888) 267-5772. We are a member of the better business bureau as well. Good rates, great service!

Hi,

You didn't leave your name & I don't talk on the phone first, as I'm strict about time management.

I send a list of questions & more info & then wait for the responses back. Then if all is still ok, then we talk.

Thank you

If you're still looking for that merchant account let me know. I've got access to around 200 processors, domestic, offshore, and EU. I can run your profile through them for free, and see who bites if you want. I actually specialize in high-risk. Either way, it's stress-free.

I can help you with setting up your account. I have the lowest rates out there so I am not worried about that. I need to know what equipment you are using so I can guide you in the right direction. I am an ISO with wells Fargo. Contact me if you are still looking for an account.
