Default Transacting through the phone
Is there a payment processor that uses the phone system to make online transactions?

Normally, payment processors uses credit cards, debit cards, and bank accounts to transact online. But is it possible to use the telephone to fund an account?

It very much so is. Your customers would have to give you their payment information then you dial a 800 number to input the transaction. The only problem with this service is the 3%+ discount rate and generally .75cents per transaction. On the other hand there is no equipment to buy, no lease fees, no gateway fees so it all kind of evens out!

It is if you can trust your employees and have them dispose of the sensitive information correctly and promptly. Of course you never want to keep the full CC numbers on file. It is a secure system though, all touch tone entered and not done through an actual person. You get an authorization number or decline, but the risk of Charge Back is high because there is generally nothing signed. I always recomend either a carbon copy or invoice signed on to prove the transaction was legit

There is alot of fraud out there, I usually recommend the voice transactions for customers who are in the service industry where they usually work directly with their customers because that takes the risk down to almost nil. Anything transacted over the net if your not entering the CVV number (3 digits on back of V/MC/Disc. 4 digits on front of AMEX) to be verified your opening yourself up to attack... but it is possible to do over the phone

Do you mean like a voice prompt/voice recognition software that asks for your CC info and processes your payment or top up an account?

We have this kind of service here in my country but this is not so popular here since its very prone to fraud and scammers are everywhere to fish for your personal information.
