Default Using PayPal looks unprofessional?
I read in another forum that a company selling large tiket items is not willing to use PayPal as its payment processor because the owner is afraid of looking "unprofessional". It's a bit surprising. Do you think using PayPal makes your company look unprofessional?

I really dislike when companies only have one option for payment. Google Checkout, Paypal, whatever... give your customers options!

Having spent a lot of time on Ebay, I'm definitely familiar with the negativeness surrounding Paypal for customers, but I don't see why it'd be unprofessional for a business to accept it.

No. Paypal actually makes it more professional especially if you offer a lot of payment options aside from it.

In my opinion, only seasoned Internet buyers will see it as unprofessional. I personally use it with the likes of 2checkout to give more of a professional appearence

I thought about this too. And yes i think it can in a way because in general it is the easiest form of payment on the web so legit companies with experience usually pay lots of money for programmers to set up legit credit card systems of accepting payment. Rather than just getting an account for free with paypal and putting a button on your site.

for small business owners and sellers, i think paypal is good enough. unless you can have an account with diners or visa then you will be professional enough because having accounts there would entail much deposits.

Nothing unprofessional about it at all. It's just another option for customers to pay you. How do you know what customers prefer? Some prefer credit cards, some prefer paypal, some prefer check/money order/cash. Give them the option. What do you care as long as you're getting paid!
