I totally agree with you. And it's not just about looking professional it is as you said, making it easier for the customers to pay you. The easier it is for customers to buy something from you the better it is for your business.

Paypal is still the best online banking option if you are conscious about your online security.

Hmmmm. I don't think so. Its just an option for the costumers use to pay. You cannot force anyone to do that if they don't want to. If that is their choice, so be it

I offer credit card processing on my websites as well as offer paypal. I probably have ~20% of customers pay with paypal, so I feel it is necessary to offer as they CHOSE it over a credit/debit card option. I do however feel upgrading your paypal payment options (the paid version) makes your website look more professional and should help in conversion rates as well.

Many organizations use PayPal for processing. Definitely not unprofessional. Skype uses PayPal.

No, i don't think so that the paypal's layout is unprofessional rather its easy and less complicated as compared to other payment processors.
