trust me you want to use paypal as little as possible, i was an ebay seller once and paypal fees (and ebay fees) ruined my business because they got greedy...

Paypal has to charge fees for being the money broker. The only way around the high fee is to sign up for a merchant account and always have money in your account. You can also call paypal and negotiate a better rate if you are doing many transactions.

There is no way you can minimise the paypal charges. You would be charged far worse if your bank does the conversion.
