Default How credit cards work
Credit cards are issued after an account has been approved by the credit provider, after which cardholders can use it to make purchases at merchants accepting that card.

Cash back credit card reward programs started out rather simply, offering a flat percentage rate (typically 1 percent of purchases) rebated back to the customer in the form of a check at the end of the year or a statement credit. The economics of these offers forced many banks to dilute the real value with tiered earning structures which paid a fraction of 1 percent for purchases below a very high dollar threshold (such as $2,500) per month. This structure is quite common among many of the issuers cash back credit card reward programs but there continue to be some notable standouts that shine in terms of generous earning opportunities and simplicity. For example the Citi Dividend Rewards MasterCard program pays a flat 5 percent on all grocery, gasoline and drug store purchases and a full 1 percent on all other purchases, regardless of spending amount.

if someone use my credit card (which I lost) to buy in reality shops. Does the money will transfer directly to these shops at the same time he/she buys??

If not, what happen if I contact bank at the same time or later, will I lose money??

There are many kinds of credit cards available right now, but they are all the same inform. Credit card is more known as plastic money and you can use this to buy things and pay your bills. A billing statement will be sent to you with your itemized transactions.

Have you ever stood behind someone in line at the store and watched him shuffle through a stack of what must be at least 10 credit cards? Consumers with this many cards are still in the minority, but experts say that the majority of U.S. citizens have at least one credit card -- and usually two or three. It's true that credit cards have become important sources of identification -- if you want to rent a car, for example, you really need a major credit card. And used wisely, a credit card can provide convenience and allow you to make purchases with nearly a month to pay for them before finance charges kick in.

That sounds good, in theory. But in reality, many consumers are unable to take advantage of these benefits because they carry a balance on their credit card from month to month, paying finance charges that can go up to a whopping 23 percent. Many find it hard to resist using the old "plastic" for impulse purchases or buying things they really can't afford. The numbers are striking: In 1999, American consumers charged about $1.2 trillion on their general-purpose credit cards.

well for me most of the times the credit card workings are confusing.and more as it is now that a particular institution provides you variety with different benefits in cards.what I do to understand the features and work is I check the card features in the institution site itself.so you can also try a start like that
