Do you check the BBB?

Before you conduct any business with a company or person you are not familiar with, do you go to the Better Business Bureau site and check to see if they have a record?

I only checked the BBB if I don't know the reputation of the company. I don't deal much with companies that are not well known. If ever I need to transact with such companies, I will check reviews and then go to BBB for confirmation of the reviews.

I have checked with them before on a company who scammed me out of $200 bucks. I had ordered something and they decided I wanted to continue with their service every month. That was not the agreement when I first started out. I checked with the BBB in their home state and come to find out, I wasn't the first to have been scammed. I called them twice a day to get my money back and I guess I irritated them so much they finally sent it back.

If I am unfamiliar with the company or if for any reason am unsure, I always check out the BBB. It's amazing what you can learn there.

Yea I have been in the same situation where I bought something and never received it though. I filed with the BBB and several scam sites. After FOUR months I finally got my money.

If I am getting a strange "vibe" from the company, yes I do. Even if they are someone who I don't know, I will check. You can't ever be too safe these days. Scam artists are everywhere.
